I call up this is my start Junie B. Jones book I've read and it'south quite funny. Information technology reminds me of Superfudge and the like. Junie is a scrap annoying and a lot funny. She made me laugh out loud, only it was her instructor's reaction to Junie that got me.

It's Valentine'south and her class is making cards for each other. In that location is a lot of drama over this whole ordeal.

I read this with my niece. She read information technology and so I read information technology and we talked about it. She idea Junie was quite funny. She felt like Junie was a sort of silly. She said she doesn't do things like that. I said, she has matured. When Junie is winking at the boys to find her hugger-mugger admirer, that had us both laughing. Nosotros went around the house saying, "wink, wink". She gave this 3 stars. Peradventure I can observe more than things to read and discuss with my niece.

Recommends it for: Parents who like to read to their 5-7 year one-time children.
1 of the little girls who I brought to the zoo on Sabbatum had two Junie B. Jones books with her, and asked if I'd like to read one. I eagerly accepted, having heard good things nigh them and wanting to know what all the fuss was almost.

This was a actually cute volume, I'll acknowledge. I of course knew the catastrophe well before the end, but that's probably because I'yard 28 and non 7. Junie gets a fancy mushy valentine from a hush-hush gentleman and then sets out to solve the mystery of who sent it. Along the mode

1 of the little girls who I brought to the zoo on Sabbatum had two Junie B. Jones books with her, and asked if I'd like to read one. I eagerly accepted, having heard good things about them and wanting to know what all the fuss was about.

This was a really cute book, I'll admit. I of course knew the catastrophe well earlier the end, simply that's probably because I'm 28 and not 7. Junie gets a fancy mushy valentine from a undercover admirer and and then sets out to solve the mystery of who sent it. Along the way nosotros get a lot of cute antics from the independent and talkative 5 year onetime.

But I must say, I'm surprised/impressed kids can read this and do well with it. Or either that, the item 7 year one-time I am with is a better reader than virtually. The writer tries to write equally if Junie is talking/thinking, so it jumps effectually quite a bit, as an easily distracted five-twelvemonth-old would. Not just that, just many of the words are spelled incorrect (valentime, nouncement) and the judgement grammar is wrong and the sentences become on and on (similar, well, a five-year old). I call back information technology would be a corking, funny book to read aloud to a small kid, just I would call up these intentional errors would go far more difficult for someone who is only getting to the chapter book stage of reading.

Sometimes books merely find me. It seems that the books that observe me finish up being the almost enjoyable reads. My most recent read of a book like this is Junie B. The title and the cover analogy told me it would exist a quick read but I had the feeling I wouldn't enjoy it. It just seemed too beautiful. I decided to give it a read when I was stuck on a much harder volume and needed a petty fluff for my encephalon. By the lesser of the first page, I was in love with the volume: "A 'nouncement is the school give-and-take for mind to me... and I MEAN it."

Barbara Park clearly understands how kids that age (four to 6) call back. So many of things that Junie B. says and thinks are things that could accept come up out of Sean'southward oral cavity or the mouths of his friends. I was laughing on almost every folio.

As a parent of a child who is almost ready for kindergarten, I institute this book about a Valentine'south Day party very funny. Junie B's narration with all of the types of mistakes I've heard my son and his friends make fabricated me express mirth. The teacher'south exasperation at some of the children's antics rings true besides.

Spoiler warning: Information technology's Meanie Jim. Because OF Class it's Meanie Jim and OF Grade were going to perpetuate the dangerous lie that when boys are hateful to girls it means they like them and that makes it okay. In the end, Junie and Jim make up one's mind to not let the fact that he likes her change their relationship and that they'll keep being mean to each other. I don't think I need to explicate any further why this was just the absolute worst.

Parents and care givers reading these books to your little girls: skip this one. Also consider skipping Junie B Loves Handsome Warren. As a kindergarten teacher and mom of a Kindergartener I always tell kids that they are likewise young for boyfriends and girlfriends. I'm not a fan of these 2 books encouraging that. I'm also non a fan of how both of these books involve the 3 best friends fighting with each other over who is more highly-seasoned to the opposite sex.

Great female person friendships are portrayed and everyone surrounding Junie really adds to the story.

Why I loved the tropical vacation story? Junie does some pretty weird crap and I laughed my ass off drying the whole unabridged book. She takes a movie of grumpy former ladies, her doll is portrayed every bit bossy, and her floating bird floatie gets stuck on her.

However,I loved this 1. The sense of humor was dialed downwards and...well I swooned when I got to this one.
